Green in the glass
Lemon alone can be sharp. A handful of mint changes it.
Mint has long been used to settle the stomach, and some people find a cool glass of it does just that after a meal. The lemon brings a little vitamin C. On a warm day, it is an easy way to drink more water.
What would a cool glass of this do for you?
What you'll need
- 1 cup cold water
- Juice of half a lemon
- A small handful of fresh mint leaves
- A little honey or a pinch of salt, if you like
- A few ice cubes, if you have them
Method
Tear or lightly crush the mint, so it lets go of its scent.
Stir it through the water with the lemon juice, add ice if you have it, and sweeten or season to taste.
Sip it cool, in place of a sweeter drink. Give it a week of warm afternoons, and notice how your stomach feels after, and whether you reach for it again.
